Endoscopy

Endoscopy at Ormiston

An endoscopy is usually ordered to make or confirm a diagnosis in a patient with abdominal symptoms. The procedure is done under sedation, an endoscope – a long soft flexible tube, containing a camera and a light, is used and inserted down the patients throat. Images are captured by the camera after insertion. It is a very safe and common procedure, and patients are monitored throughout.
